Everyone, it seems, has an opinion about value-based reimbursement and its potential to impact dental care. But the term is imprecisely understood and applied. Myths co-mingle with facts because we lack a common foundation for discussing value-based care and reimbursement. This webinar, which follows up on a presentation to the Dental Quality Alliance earlier this year, is meant to provide NADP members with a common foundation for considering value-based reimbursement; it will also survey some successful value-based pilots to date. Finally, the presentation will also offer a clear-eyed discussion of the barriers to the widespread adoption of value-based reimbursement in dental care. Following the presentation, lead presenter, Mike Adelberg, NADP’s Executive Director, will be joined by Dr. Linda Vidone and Dr. Mark Jurkovich, for a pointed discussion of the topic.

Adelberg was responsible for establishing the Affordable Care Act policy for pediatric dental coverage and stand-alone dental plans. Before that, he oversaw Medicare Advantage plan contracting and market conduct, including supplemental dental benefits.
