He previously served as Vice, Global Market Research at Prudential Financial and Vice President and head of Market Research for U.S. Business at MetLife.

    Randi Tillman, DMD, MBA

    Assistant Vice President & Chief Dental Officer of Guardian Life Insurance Company of America

    Dr. Tillman joined Guardian as Assistant Vice President and Chief Dental Officer.  In her current role, she has oversight responsibility for all aspects of clinical policy, claims adjudication and effective claims cost management. In addition, she has become a champion for initiatives related to oral health and wellness. 

    Dr. Tillman is a seasoned healthcare professional, with more than 25 years of business experience in dental insurance, managed care, and health economics.  She has served on several boards and committees including the Gies Foundation for the Advancement of Dentistry, and in recent years, Dr. Tillman has served on. the Steering Committee for the NH Oral Health Plan and as a member of the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition

    Dr. Tillman received her bachelor of science from Tufts University.  She holds a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Columbia University.

    Telehealth and specifically teledentistry have been growing exponentially over the last 10 years. There are many ways teledentistry can be used to address the oral healthcare delivery system. Given the unequal distribution of healthcare resources in the US, the utilization of teledentistry platforms by dental providers has created a significant increase in access to care, is reducing oral healthcare costs, and has also been shown to potentially increase the quality of care.   

    Learn how providers are expanding their practices by utilizing teledentistry platforms in order to grow their patient base and reach patients beyond their geographic scope. Tele-orthodontics particularly has found a place within the teledentistry platforms that are available today. 

    The increase in access to care and the proliferation of teledentistry has raised several questions within the healthcare continuum.     Jeff Sulitzer, DMD

    Jeffrey Sulitzer, DMD, is the Chief Clinical Officer at SmileDirectClub. From the start of his career, Dr. Sulitzer aimed to impact oral health on a large scale. After graduating from the Temple University School of Dentistry in 1985, Dr. Sulitzer spent more than a decade serving as Vice President of US Healthcare’s dental division and worked for several BlueCross BlueShield dental companies growing their businesses through 2012, offering dental insurance to millions of people in the US and increasing access to care. For the past 6 years, Dr Sulitzer has been working in the DSO space in roles from Chief Clinical Officer to Interim CEO.

    During this time, he continued to see patients as well in the dental practices he owned from 1986 through 2014. Though his private practice afforded him the luxury of meeting patients in person throughout the years, Dr. Sulitzer was driven to provide dental access to more people utilizing different platforms. SmileDirectClub and the other companies he has worked for in the past have allowed him the unique opportunity to extend his services to tens of thousands of people through the revolutionary teledentistry platform.

     

    Mary Lee Conicella, DMD, FAGD

    Chief Dental Officer

    Dr. Mary Lee Conicella is Aetna’s Chief Dental Officer.  In her role, she creates programs that engage members and deliver superior health through integration.  She was instrumental in launching Aetna's Dental-Medical Integration program and has published numerous abstracts and articles related to the impact dental care has on overall health.  She is a member of Aetna’s Clinical Executive Leadership Council, a team that develops clinical thought leadership positions across Aetna.  She also participates on the CVS/Aetna Enterprise-Wide Opioid Task Force; implementing innovative clinical initiatives that impact the opioid crisis.  She has worked for Aetna since 1997.

    Dr. Conicella received her DMD from Temple University School of Dentistry.  She practiced general dentistry for more than 15 years and achieved Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry.  She spent many years on the clinical faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and currently sits on the NYU College of Dentistry Dean’s Strategic Advisory Council.

    Her affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the National Dental Association’s Corporate Round Table.  She is a member of the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) Board of Directors and volunteers on the NADP Codes Workgroup.

    Recognizing that many patients experience challenges with accessing traditional dental care, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation funded the Colorado Medical Dental Integration (CO-MDI) Project in 2015. CO-MDI's goal is to expand access to dental care by integrating dental hygienists into medical settings. CO-MDI has integrated over 35 dental hygienists into medical care teams across Colorado.     Patricia A. Braun MD, MPH, FAAP

    Professor of Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Public Health and Dental Medicine, University of Colorado

    Patty Braun is a Professor of Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Public Health and Dental Medicine at the University of Colorado. Dr. Braun conducts oral health disparity research and evaluation at the Adult and Child Consortium of Research and Dissemination Science.  She is leading the evaluation of the Colorado Medical-Dental Integration Project and SMILES Dental Project. She is currently the Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Oral Health Executive Committee.     Alisha Hightower

    Alisha Hightower is the director of compliance for The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) working primarily on government programs including Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare Advantage under their subsidiaries Access Dental Plan, Premier Access Insurance Company and Avesis. Alisha joined Guardian’s subsidiaries in 2013 where she was the Director of Exchange Programs, later taking over Government Programs. Prior to joining Guardian she was with the Department of Health Care Services as the Chief of the Dental Managed Care Unit, overseeing the California Medicaid dental managed care contracts. She received her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Economics in 2005 from CSUS.

    Eme Augustini

    Executive Director, National Association of Dental Plans

    As of November 1, 2019, Eme has taken on the role of executive director at the National Association of Dental Plans (NADP). Eme joined the NADP Government Relations team in 2012 and quickly mastered the issues facing the industry at both the state and federal level. She was promoted to Associate Director of Government Relations and became Director of Government Relations in early 2017. In this role Eme was responsible for all federal and state legislative and regulatory affairs for NADP. Eme was instrumental in establishing NADP's Advocacy in Action day in Washington, D.C. which has raised NADP's profile in Congress. Prior to joining the NADP Government Relations team in 2012, Eme worked with a national trade association managing regulatory compliance and grassroots advocacy programs. She earned her bachelor's in political science and philosophy from Texas A&M University and is pursuing an MBA with business analytics emphasis from Texas Woman's University.

    Owen Urech

    Owen joined NADP in April of 2019 after previously serving as a research intern with the Health Management Academy and Health Policy Coordinator for the Roosevelt Institute. During his time with Roosevelt, HMA, and several political campaigns Owen developed extensive experience crafting public policy and engaging activists. He graduated from American University in 2018 with a degree in political science specializing in American government.

    Jarvis manages VPay’s direct and channel partner sales efforts in the Dental, Healthcare, Workers’ Compensation and Auto Insurance verticals. Prior to coming to VPay, Jarvis spent 20 years in sales and marketing of electronic transaction solutions, most recently as a Sales Executive for Fiserv Output Solutions, responsible for all e-payment and e-document solution sales in the healthcare vertical. Jarvis currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the National Dental EDI Council and has been actively involved in the organization since 2006. In 2009 and 2010 he received the Chairman’s Award for outstanding contribution to the organization. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors at AAPAN. Jarvis earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is an avid Formula One racing fan.

    Seth Bills

    Executive Vice President and In-House Counsel, Membersy

    Seth Bills joined Membersy in 2018 as executive vice president and in-house counsel, a multifaceted role combining corporate counsel, operations, and human resources functions. Seth has worked with Eric Johnson and Membersy virtually from the beginning, serving as outside counsel and assisting with contracts, state licensure, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and other legal matters.  

    Seth has focused on health law throughout his career, providing counsel to hospital groups and physicians on contract and licensure matters, state and federal regulatory schemes, and HIPAA compliance. Through his work with Membersy, Seth has developed extensive working knowledge of the discount medical program space in all fifty states. 

    Seth earned a B.A. from the University of Texas and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, and is a licensed attorney in the State of Texas.

Educated at Nova Southeastern University and the University of Florida, Laura currently serves on the Education Commission for the National Association of Dental Plans, keeping her ear to the industry’s trends and needs.

    Jimmy joined Zelis in 2014 and is part of the sales and business development team at Zelis Network Analytics. He is responsible for all sales efforts with new prospects and existing accounts. These efforts include the Network360 analytics suite, Provider Data Accuracy and Network Builder and Optimizer projects as well as client-customized deliverables.
